"When I was 14 I heard my first Oscar Peterson recording. And it was like being struck by lightning."
- Jackie Warren
During her classical training at Oberlin Conservatory, Jackie Warren was encouraged by her mentor Wendell Logan to explore jazz piano and improvisation. Tri-C Jazz legends Neil Creque and Kenny Davis introduced her to the genre, guiding and nurturing her talent to help her become one of today's top jazz pianists in the region.
As part of the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, she backed up Maurice Hines' Tappin' Through Life during its critically acclaimed national tour. Along with Sherrie Maricle and Amy Shook, Warren formed the powerhouse trio 3Divas.
She has performed locally and nationally as a soloist and as the Jackie Warren Trio with bassist Peter Dominguez and drummer Ron Godale.
Giving back to the future of jazz, Warren is an educator, clinician and coach at Oberlin Conservatory, Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus and Cleveland Music School Settlement.
